Before medical school I found myself trying desperately for a baby without success. My husband and I found out that this was a male factor issue. I began researching everything I could to find natural ways of increasing fertility. We did everything we could to have a baby naturally without the cost of conventional fertility treatments. Within several months we happily found out we were expecting! This was after we were told that we were not likely to get pregnant without IVF. This experience opened my eyes to a world that up until that point I hadn’t thought much about. It also taught me that there are so many others like me out there that are wanting someone to truly listen to their concerns. During school I dedicated my education to learning as much as I could about natural fertility treatments and how to help others achieve the family of their dreams.
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. I never quite knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, but my thoughts typically circled around the health care industry. I remember proudly proclaiming one day that I wanted to be a veterinarian and another day an orthodontist but never really landing on one thing.
I graduated high school a year early with high intentions of becoming a lawyer. However, after starting college I found myself lost with no real direction on what I really wanted to do.
After a year and a half of college I decided that I would go to beauty school and attended the Aveda Institute where I graduated and became licensed in Esthiology. This is where my love of the body and my passion for natural health was ignited.
I decided to go back to college, initially wanting to become a nurse but then changing my mind and receiving an Associates degree in Bioscience Technology. After this I interned and subsequently got a job in a pathology lab at Emory University in Atlanta. I moved on to get my Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.
After completing my degree, I realized that I wanted to be the doctor helping patients. I decided to combine my love of natural health and healthcare, and after some searching, I discovered naturopathic medicine. I didn’t grow up with this kind of medicine, but it resonated with me so deeply I moved my family almost 3000 miles across the country to attend Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington.
While in school I finally felt that I had discovered my purpose in life and began a journey of healing and self-discovery. Working with a mentor and using energetic medicine I began healing my body, mind, and spirit to help me become the best person I could be. By going through my own health journey, I have a better understanding of what my patients go through and feel that I am in a better position to help others through their own health journey.
While I treat a wide range of health concerns, I have passions for fertility, hormonal health, and pediatric care. I possess a broad range of healing strategies including nutritional healing, botanical medicine, and homeopathy. I believe in the body’s innate ability to heal itself and that, with the proper tools, we can build a foundation for optimal health and wellness. My intention is to find the root cause of my patient’s concerns and I work thoroughly with every patient to meet their goals.
In my free time I love spending time with my husband Charlie; and our children, as we find new adventures and paths to explore. I love to read, bake yummy treats for my family, and spend time out in nature on the weekends with my family.
